Community [ 1- 20]

1. Hallo thar frands. :D Hope you are all doing good. The last time I posted an icon entry, it was Jan 6th. And now its Feb 20th. Ehehehe. I do have a big post saved up tho. But I just wanted to get my inspired20in20 entry out of the way first.


2. The post you see below, you guys, in order to make the deadline, I finished 15 icons in 3 hours. AND MAH SHODDY WORK SHOWS. But I also kind of enjoyed dewing it so it cancels out no?


3. Light Blobs are my saviour, as you can see below.


4. I haz discovered selective colouring? At work, photoshop is what I work it and I now make icons by shifting between PSP and PS. I cannot bear to give up PSP tho. WILL NOT. But yes, PS does have some really cool features.

How is 20 so awesome? That texture use. Those colors. The contrast. The blue hair, man. The blue hair.

Other awesome things to note: the light blob use in 2, the coloring in 3, the softness and coloring of 8, the vibrance in 18.

But seriously. 20. I love it to pieces.

AHAHAHA. Okay, so let me tell you about 20. I recently got a graphic tablet and I wanted to get in on some sweet hair!porn action. So I optimistically tried to draw some pretty blue strands of hair. It took 4 hours and in the end, all I had was squiggly lines. But I refused to junk the icon because I spent too much time on it. SO I PAINTED EVERYTHING. And slapped on a texture. Man, it was the happiest of accidents ever. :D

Oh wow, so much love for the colorful glowiness in these!! 13 is the AWESOMEST. it's PINK and it has fun text and great composition and negative space and asdasdfsdf perfect :3

but like I said I really adore the vibrant glow in all of these, especially 2, 4, 6, 15, 16 & 18, and 20 is super gorgeous with the creative texture use. And I love the scribbly text details and deep blues in 5, as well as the lighting and paler colors and text magic in 8. seriously this text arrangement is so simple and small but it definitely adds so much to the icon, the placement and font combo are amazing!

Incredible set!! ♥ (and I'll just pretend that you didn't just say 15 icons in 3 hours cause then I'd have to hate you. I'm lucky if I can make two or three icons in that time ;__;)

Dude, I will tell you, those icons that I made in 3 hours, they happened cause I didnt do anything texture or composition wise. I just coloured and blobbed away! MY SKILLS ARE FALSE SO DONT HATE ME PLS. ;_;

#20 completely blew my mind and I'm not even kidding. It caught my eye right away and I was like WHOAAAAAAAA. 0_o THE COLORS. THE TEXTURE. THE...THE...EVERYTHINGS.

Guuuurl, I totally know what you mean about rushing around to make icons for a challenge. Ugh. I've got to churn out a set for technique20in20 in four days and I quickly made, like, only seven of them and I'm only happy with, like, two. And I have no idea what pictures to use to complete the set.

AAAAA, IT WAS A HAPPY ACCIDENT OKAY. I wanted to draw pretty blue hair for Annie but then it didnt work out but I didnt want to trash the icon also so I just painted everything and slapped on a texture and through sheer dumb luck it all worked out!

AHHH MAN, I feel you! All the best for the set. Here's to churning icons out at breakneck speed! :)
