 Mad Max: Fury Road - [1-17]

Notes:

1. I was rewatching Mad Max the other day and felt extremely inspired, saved some caps and decided I wanted to try the challenge for 10in30 and then set to work over the weekend.


2. I tried stuff. Which is to say I tried to use more textures, gradients and colourful text.  I made the icons in stages. I first made a few muted icons, but decided I wanted to make more colourful stuff. So I took those muted icons and vomited a bunch of adjustment layers on them and voila, here you have it.


3. Also two posts in one month? Unheard of. :D

WOAH. Woah woah woah. AMAZING. I am so impressed with the extreme bold vibrancy you've used in this set. Seriously, the colouring in this set is freaking insane. I mean, by including your alts, I am literally gobsmacked at how you could go from gentle, soft pastel like 16 and 17, to the insanely rich intense colours you used on the icons you included.

I actually love everything about #2. The close crop is insanely well done, the texture work is phenomenal, and the text work and placement blows me away so much. (Also, another alt which is spectacular as well!) I also love the contrast in the colours of #4, the way the blue stands out so boldly against the deeper oranges is all kinds of beautiful. The text placement in #7 is perfection. I love how it becomes the focus of the icon, but also the way it contrasts so beautifully against the colouring in the background. And #10 has such gorgeous, gorgeous texture work, I love how it's all painted and gritty, with amazing contrast between the brighter blue tones and softer pastel purples.

This is such a visually gorgeous set! Seriously stunning work lovely.

I love the grungy look of this whole set. The text use on 8 and 10 is awesome. I also really like 12 with the different textures ;)

Oh these icons are so pretty and unique. I absolutely love what you did with the text in these icons. It looks really creative and I think it especially really works in 1, 2 and 7. 1 is just so pretty with the cropping and the colouring. I also love the cropping in 2 and the general colouring in 5, 7 and 9. Very pretty.

omg these are absolutely amazing. I can't believe how creative and gorgeous all of your close crop icons look, those are always the ones I struggle the most with so to see how wonderfully other people manage them is just super inspiring! ♥ 1, 2 and 4 are particularly wow, cause your text use is freaking incredible, love the placements, arrangements, the font choices, everything. And the grungy/geometric texture overlayed with the character in 2 just makes it even more fantastic - might be my favorite here.
The far crop ones are awesomeness too, looove those vibrant colors and the texture use. 7 has the perfect amount of saturation and the purple-pink-orange combo looks stunning (I actually just noticed how this coloring is like a gradient from red to purple and thats' SUPER COOL). Love the painty texture effects on 9 and 10, and the text really completes the composition super well in 10. Fantastic set!! And I love all the muted alts too!

wow brilliant set! The combination of vibrant colouring and grunginess fits this movie so well not to mention looks amazing. My favourites are 4 (love the colour combo here!), 6, 8 and 14.

I should also re-watch this. IDK I didn't really get it the first time but everyone seems to love it so much.

These are amazing! The colours are fabulous and I'm in awe of your text use!
Your cropping in the Close set is terrific, particularly in 2 & 5, and I love how you used the text in 1, 2 & 4. For the Far set, I love the compositions and texture use. The grungy look in 1 contrasts beautifully with the vibrant colours, I love the text in 2, 3 & 5, and the negative space and paint texture use in 4 is gorgeous!

Yay! Awesome colors! Vibrant icons will always draw me in. :D

My faves are the flat-colored ones, #9 and #5, then the textury ones, #3 and #10.

I really like the coloring and composition on #1, but I can't read that first word (and it's bugging me ;)). I think that could be improved by smoothing out the image beneath the text. That is something I always do. It's not really a noticeable change in the motif but the text gets a lot more readable.

In this case maybe putting a brush across her eyes would also look good, since they're completely covered by the text anyway.

I think the text works well on #8, in all versions, and the blood stains just fit perfectly - in the first alt, too. The second fire-and-blood alt looks like a nuclear explosion in progress, which is also a very cool effect.

Great set! I had fun doing this challenge, too. I didn't know whether I would make it, but in the end, I did. I also only signed up 5 minutes before posting the set. I really like doing that - much better than signing up and stressing myself not to have to drop out. *g*

Ooh, sorry! The text in the first one, the text which obscures the eyes is 'praying'. The brush tip is a good idea. Idk why I didnt think of that!

Your style here is incredible. Love what you have done here; grunge style and your text skill is magnificent! I love the mood here and how powerful they are ♥ 1 and 2 has stunning text and crops! JUST WOW ♥ I love how mysterious they are. 3 has stunning bg and texture use and the colors are just ♥♥ I love the crop&text of 4 and 5 has awesome crop and feeling! :) 6 has awesome movement and grunge texture! 7 has stunning text and powerful colors! And 8 is very interesting and unique style! Love the circle and text! And the contrast is powerful! And 9; wow! ♥ The vibrant colors are just so breath taking! I also love the colors of 10 :)
