Community - 20 for
20inspirations
Okay, so the theme for
20inspirations this time was Adventures in Wonderland with the idea behind the theme being that you need to make icons which are unusual and unexpected, at least for you that is.
As per usual, I picked Community as my claim and then sat on my hands wondering what to do.
For you see, when I icon, all I do is crop and colour, with the occasional bout of text because that is how I enjoy iconning. I will also admit, I dont pay that much attention to composition because it is not my jam. So for this time's theme, I decided that I would go heavy on the composition and texture use because I never ever do that. I mean, I do use textures but not in the way that I have here and I stay the hell away from attempting composition.
At first, I did think I was making hot messes but later on I gave up worrying and made the hot messes. It was fun to do so. And yes, there is plenty of text here but idk man, I just wanted to put text on ALL the icons this time. Also yes, I did want to make most of my icons blue this time. The reasoning eludes me however.
In conclusion, I had plenty of fun doing this, even tho my steam fizzled out towards the end (which is so evident in the last row of icons) and I hope you will like looking at them.
Also, I will list out the inspirations for the icons tomorrow bc I am lazy. :D

Omg, 6 though, the text is again so excellent hooooow are you so good at text all the time *__* it's so well placed, tbh I'm not even usually into text that obscures facial features but this one works so well cause it only covers some but not all of the features, and the original thing is that it covers his mouth instead of the eyes which I see a lot more often. So, awesome creativity there, plus I love the green grunge and the strong contrast a lot!
8 is so very beautiful too, really digging the extra textured look and the purple/cyan coloring, very eye-catching. Annnd ofc I'm a fan of the text too, seriously fantastic text arrangement and font combination!
Love the texture use and monochromes in 9&10 and OMG WHAT IS 14. IT'S UNFAIRLY GORGEOUS. I love the weird duplication effect in it so much and the way the text angle and the texture use give it this sense of movement. Also, bright cyans ftw always. Speaking of which, I adore the colors and text in 17 so much. Again really great use of text that overlaps the character but not too much!
These are just a few favorites, I really love what you did with the entire set! Fantastic work :>
